Practice areas

Prof. Dr. Theo Bodewig is an expert in intellectual property proceedings and antitrust law. He serves as a consultant and draws up opinions in these areas of law. He has particular knowledge of intellectual property rights in the US, including as a court appointed expert.

Theo Bodewig has been teaching at the Law School of the Humboldt University in Berlin since 2004. From 2004 to 2014 he held the chair for civil law, intellectual property law, particularly patent law, commercial law and comparative law. Prior to that he had taught at the University of Munich since 1998 and has various visiting professorships at U.S. universities, among them the University of Washington in Seattle. From 2002 to 2011 he was a judge at the Higher Regional Court of Munich.

He is the author of numerous publications in all areas of intellectual property law and copyright law, as well as antitrust law and private lawfeasible.
